Picture perfect weather but unfortunately no surf to be had. Waves are barely rideable in the ankle to shin high range at best. Tradewinds will drop off as the weekend progresses so watch for a decrease in the tradeswell as well. Probably a better day for other activities such as fishing, paddling, diving, etc.
Another beautiful day in paradise but unfortunately no surf in sight. The only rideable surf in the country will be at trade swell exposures in the ankle to shin high range at best. The Waimea Bay buoy is reading 3 ft @ 7 seconds...so barely any wind swell squeaking in. Trade winds will begin dropping off as the weekend progresses so watch for the tradeswell to drop off as well. Are there more out of season swells coming? Check our extended forecast for all the details.

Waikiki surf schools are on guard after several recent and mysterious cases of "Surfer's Myelopathy" struck visiting tourists learning to surf. The condition is supposedly induced by the sustained reverse hyperextension of the spinal cord when paddling on a surfboard, therefore restricting blood flow and oxygen to the spine, causing paralysis of incremental severity. No one knows better than surfers that our sport requires unique uses of our anatomy that no others do. Link:
And "Bustin' Down the Door" is scheduled to premier in Hawaii on August 1, 2008 in theatres throughout the state. This full length feature film documents the birth of pro surfing in the mid-70's, the effect the young Aussies and South Africans had in revolutionizing North Shore surfing, and resulting bad blood with the Hawaiians.
